As of March 1st, 2013, “Siemens Enterprise Communications,” providing R&D services prominently in the global ICT sector for over 20 years has become a 100% local firm known as “ICterra Information and Communication Technologies,” as a result of an MBO.
Since then, ICterra was listed amongst the leaders in the “Software Export” category.
According to the Top 500 IT Firms Research, Turkey results, ICterra has been listed as 7th in the “Software Export” category in 2016.
ICterra’s CEO, Vedat Uslu said: “The success we achieved, since ICterra’s restructuring process in 2013, prove that we are one of the important players in the sector.

Once again, we are proud to see ourselves next to the leaders in the “Software Export” category, as it is one of our primary areas of focus. These results encourage us to increase our software export activities. In 2017, our goal is to achieve a growth rate that is above the sector average, in all of our service areas.

Technological advances and innovation shape all of our activities. Besides our project-based services, our innovative products, which we are in the process of developing, will also contribute to our success in Turkey and abroad.”

Software market plays a prominent role in the growth of the information and communication technologies sector
“According to TÜBİSAD’s Top 500 IT Firms Research, Turkey publication, the size of Turkey’s IT sector at the end of 2016 was recorded as 94,3 billion TL. While the information technologies market grew 11%, the communication technologies market grew 16%”. In addition to this, total employment was increased to 120 thousand.

“One of the most important topics in the IT sector is export. According to the research results, total exports reached to 3,1 billion TL by increasing 32%.

Another crucial indicator in IT sector is the volume of e-commerce transactions in 2016, e-commerce volume grew significantly by 24% and reached to 30,8 billion TL in 2016.

ICterra’s CEO, Vedat Uslu said: “Software export should be one of the primary topics Turkey accentuates, while increasing its awareness and gaining acceptance in the sector. The contribution of software export to the IT sector is very low, when compared to the existing potential. In order to see this contribution increase from millions to billions, all players in the sector should support software export activities. Global markets will always hold an important place when considering export priorities and partnerships. With our 25+ years of experience and know-how, our goal is to carve-out our deserved place in the global market.”
